About Our Events
We hold a variety of events throughout the year—at least one each month—that blend social, educational, and political engagement. These gatherings give members and the broader community the opportunity to connect with one another, build lasting relationships, develop as leaders, and become more involved in the democratic process.
Anyone who is a member or interested in becoming a member aged 16-35 is welcome, as are our legacy members, elected officials, and community members of all ages who want to learn more about ACYD!
Some of our signature events include:
Monthly Social: Gives members the opportunity to meet one another at a location somewhere in Albany County with free refreshments. Hosted once a month!
Days of Action: These are canvass launches in which we ask ACYD members to knock on doors in a neighborhood in Albany County to support our endorsed candidates.
Voter Registration and Information Drives: Educational programming that helps register members to vote as well as gives them information about petitioning, canvassing, campaigning, or other parts of the political process.
Annual General Meeting: Our annual organizational meeting where members conduct the official affairs of ACYD. We vote on candidate endorsements, bylaw changes, and the Executive Board for the incoming year.
Installation Celebration & Awards: Ceremonially swears in the Executive Board, gives awards to members and community leaders, celebrates the work of the organization at large, and raises money for future endeavors.
Women's History Month Event: Hosted in March to celebrate Women's History Month, we partner with the NYSYD Women's Caucus to draw women leaders from around the state to celebrate their success and raise money for the caucus.
